"A rare 16th Century clairvoyance crystal and valuable documents were snatched in a daylight raid on a gallery at the Science Museum, it was confirmed today.

The irreplaceable artefacts were taken at around 4.30pm yesterday, when thieves smashed a glass cabinet in an exhibition space on the fifth floor of the building in in South Kensington, London."

Hmm. Wish I had thought of that while I was in London. Could've stowed it away in my wine cellar with the Ark o' the Covenant.

On a related note, I found out a few years ago that the Mitchell-Hedges skull is privately held in Waterloo, Ontario, only a few hundred kilometers away. I've been trying to organize my friends into a heist ever since, with no luck. However, if any 'lithers were game to seize its awesome mystical powers....

And a few odds and ends were stolen from the V&A a few weeks back. Does this go on all the time, is it just coincidence, or is someone building a machine with bits stolen from various museums to pierce the fabric of the very heavens? I tell you, if I end up up to my arse in dragon guano someone is getting a smacked bottom.
