A Blue Christmas

There has never been a more important season for Bluemericans like you and me to use our holidollars powerfully, so I have had my team of crack analysts compile this list of stores to favor and stores to avoid if you value your child's future this Christmas. Remember that Jesus may be the reason for the season but Jesus doesn't write checks to the Redmerican party, so just leave Him out of this.

Buy Blue!

What useful information! Thanks Q-being. I am passing this on to all my Amerikan contacts.

You're actually the one behind this, Qalyn? Much love your way for this if so. But I wonder whether in adopting the blanket boycotts of corporate entities whose political orientations are other than our own we ape similar tactics by our opposition which just read as petulant and impotent.

But if you convince liberal college girls everywhere to stop shopping at Victoria's Secret, you will have my undying respect. I will miss the models, but the institution itself is odious.

Uh, yes. Me and my Bluemerican minions. That's right.

Bluemerinions?

Actually, this has nothing to do with politics. I have just started an exporting business--NOT white slavery--and am hoping to weaken the dollar, thereby expanding my market abroad. I'm so dastardly!

How does Vlad know that liberal college girls shop at Victoria's Secret? Does he work behind the counter at one of their stores?

He must have Bluemerinions of his own.

I assume both liberal and conservative college girls shop at Victoria's Secret. I was speaking specifically about stopping the ones whose politics would cause them to stop shopping there. Nowhere was it suggested otherwise.

It's wonderful entertainment to watch the increasing irrationality of your responses to my posts directed to others. I hope everyone else enjoys the show as well.

They only get in the way, bio.

Okay, I'm starting to feel icky. Can we keep this venomously political, please?

I would wonder, were there a chance of a "rational" response, why the institution of Victoria's Secret is odious, certainly - its political contributions, its advancement of a limited and limiting ideal of feminine attractiveness, its business practices?

Oh,and btw, I believe the technical term is "bluemermidons".

I always thought the models were the odious part. I mean, I was into them when I was 12. I don't really get the whole fashion model fixation, though.

Haus, as an Englishperson you could be shot in Redmerica for speaking that way, did you know that?

Hang on - I thought the Britlanders were in vogue in the Red States? Free beers and backslapping?

The models are something we just don't have in our experience of lingerie shopping - well, not in anything as high street as Victoria's Secret, anyway. The British deem it more appropriate to use mannequins. For sex, as well. I suppose the staff at Agent Provocateur do have to wear "sexy" outfits... they are actually a part of the retail process, though, rather than an Alan Jones decorative feature.

Anyone flashing back to the episode of "Zoe, Duncan, Jack and Jane" where Lex dated the lingerie model?
