This is probably a stupid question, but I was wondering whether it's kosher for people to add new observations to the established Barbelith libraries on the Tarot, Futhark and Quaballa.

Most of these threads haven't been touched in a long time, but I presume they aren't locked? Am I correct in assuming that additions will bump the threads to the top of the Temple forum? Would this be a tremendous annoyance?

If anyone hasn't seen these, they're compiled in the wiki and they're a great resource:

Barbelith Runes

Barbelith Tarot

Barbelith Quaballah

Thanks for the wiki links, Sekhmet. They are a great resource. I am familiar only with the Barbelith tarot but plan to explore the others.

Funny, it looks like the Quaballah project never got finished...

The runes were the ones I was personally interested in, too; I've been working with them recently. But there are a lot of new people around here since these libraries were compiled... I'm sure others have thoughts to add as well. Since no one seems to object, I suppose it's all right.

I think I'm going to wait till after the middle of this month to post anything on the runes - I'm still working my way through the series and I don't want to disrupt the process. I think I have a few things that may be worth sharing, though, so expect to see some additions then.

Would anyone be interested in reviving the Quabbalah project, if it really isn't finished?

I'd recommend copying the information into Elseware's Sourcery Forge site. It'd be much easier to manage, view and update on hir wiki.

Er, why? What’s wrong with the Barbelith wiki? The Temple section of the barb wiki is great, but new contributors is just what it needs.

*grabs Sekhmet, steers hir towards the fabulous Barbelith wiki*

Mrowr? I'm all confused now.

Having never used a wiki before at all, I'm not sure what is involved here. Does the Barb wiki link to the SF site in any way? Is the only way to update the threads through the Barb wiki, and will that bump the threads in the forum?

No, if you’ve got something to discuss, just go ahead and bump the threads in the forum. I mean, I’m not a Temple poster, but I *think* that’ll be okay. And anyone who posts here can then contribute to pages in the wiki, just click ‘edit page’ and make whatever alteration you want, that’s why it’s so good for collaborative projects. See grant’s appeal for input from Temple posters here. This is a really good moment to get involved. It’s, y’know, spooky.

Le sigh. Okay, the links above now go to pages on the old wiki that are composed entirely of spam links... The new wiki addresses are as follows:

Runes:
http://www.barbelith.com/faq/index.php/Barbelith_Runes

Tarot:
http://www.barbelith.com/faq/index.php/Barbelith_Tarot

Quaballah:
http://www.barbelith.com/faq/index.php/Barbelith_Quaballa

And for good measure, the general Temple FAQ page:
http://www.barbelith.com/faq/index.php/The_Temple

Drat those wiki-spamming bastards, one and all.

Add to them. Get to work, all of you. None of these are considered finished projects. If you feel you have insight to add to what is there, go to it. These are continual works in progress, from the ever changing mind of Barbelith. Have at it

Crap, I completely flaked out on the Quaballa project, didn't I? These are the dangers of having a busy life. I'll see about getting the rest of those threads started.

There, Quaballa threads done. Now, go put your $.02 in them! One of these days I might even finish contributing to the rune and tarot threads myself...

Okay, I'm going to start bumping Rune threads; only one every couple of days to avoid Temple glut.

Huzzah for cusm for picking the qabbalah project back up, and cheers to whatever loverly mod turned my stupid cut-and-paste addys above into links! I was being lazy, apparently.

Contribute stuff, people!

Onward through the fog...
