Rants About The State of Music

Now I know we at Barbelith aren't supposd to likle these, but I decided to turn it on its head by reading as many as possible. Does anyone know any good sources where I can find them? And furthermore:

What does Barbelith think of Rants (could be in magazines, by musicians, whatever) about music? Are they useful or not? Are you guilty of it yourself? And so on and so forth

Rants are okay as long as you remember that you don't matter. Rants in music mags, which at the moment are fairly dire anyway, are by people who have forgotten that rule and therefore are the prick.

Although, I haven't actually bought it for a while...

But it generally isn't one for doom-and-gloom-style rants, although i remember it is fond of rants about doom-and-gloom-style rants

If you write something in which you express your feelings about music and then look at what you've written and add "That was bit of a rant, I'm afraid", that's absolutely fine, because we all need to vent now and again.

However, if you sit down and think "okay, I'm going to write a RANT now, a rant so searing it will make those record company suits quake in their boots!", you are probably in need of being beaten about the head with Hunter S. Thompson's old typewriter.
