Whitey?

A friend claims that my next favorite band of all time is going to be Whitey. Chief problem being, I've never heard them and can't find any of their stuff online.

He said they're on 1 2 3 4 records, the label that that guy from the Libertines' new band is on.

And... that's pretty much all I know. Any of you know anything about them?

I know 'em. They supported Oneida ealier this year. They were a pretty run-of-the-mill rock band, and needless to say the main act blew them offstage. Although support slots are rarely a decent way to be introduced to a band.

(Nathan) Whitey's album 'The Light at the End of the Tunnel is a Train' is out now to buy for your listening pleasure.

I'm a friend of the artist, so I'm biased, but I reckon the album's a electro-rock-clash classic, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. Indeed, it makes a nice break from the current mire of British bands who seem hung up on Beatles/Stones/Radiohead -type of influences.

Wow - it's great. Is the album going to be released in the states? Right now it's only available as an import...

The last I heard he was in talks with some high-powered American agent, but I don't know what the outcome was. He's busy touring at the moment, and there's a chance he might be playing in New York again later this year. If I get any further details I'll let you know, but until then you're probably better off getting the import.

Told you it was good though, eh? ; )

It really, really is - keep me posted on the New York tour. I missed them (him?) last time by a couple of days.
