Firstly, can't you post such links as links in the future rather than as a URL - information on how to do this is in the FAQ to tell you how to do this for a reason.

Secondly, why do you think this is week's sunday strip is significant?

Sorry about the link, somehow I had it in my head that it would convert it automatically.

I just found the strip particularly funny, and thought I would make the beautiful people of Barbelith aware of it.

I love Doonsbury. You've got to love a mainstream comic strip that features Dr Hunter S. Thompson as a recurring character.

Link posted here.

...whether Thomspson wants it to or not... (see under Fall, 1974)

I do love the strip though.

Did you know Gary Trudeau wrote the Canada Act of 1982, which declared Canadian independance from the British crown?

Wasn't there a Doonesbury animated feature? Anyone seen it? I came THIS close to buying a cheap ex-rental copy, but missed out. I heard it was actually pretty good as American animation for that period goes...

I always wanted to see it, as it bridges the plot gap in the strip that happened when Trudeau took his long sabbatical...

That must've been when he defeated the Progressive Conservatives, who had challegned his Liberal party government. You really can't blame him for taking some time off from cartooning when his political future is on the line.

You can hardly call it "time off"; the pressures of leading a minority government, especially in those days of unabashed "Conservatism", led to his serious health problems. He refuses to speak on the exact nature of them, even to this day. It's a wonder he's still breathing.

It was quite good- looked exactly like the strip in motion, and the voices, though initially not quite what I'd imagined, were very character-appropriate.

I have not, however, ever been able to obtain a script for Doonesbury: The Musical. Don't suppose anyone else has?
