Adam, Eve and the Holy Name

4give me if i am mistaken but i figure this is the place to post this question.

A few days ago, i was talking with my friend Evan. Evan recently converted to judaism (because, as he puts it, it is the ultimate boys club and they have the best mysticism) i digress. Evanstarts on bout Lilith and all that and compares her to'Lucifer' because of the venus connection (being the morning star and all)

Anyway, point is, when we started on about IHVH - he tells me im wrong. He says the "H" isn't an H or "Hey" but instead is the equivelent of "E" in hebrew. It hit both of us then:

IHVH= I EVE

Is this far out or has anyone heard of this? Cab someone expand on this concept if there is one?

Thanks

My understanding (and I'm not Jewish and don't speak Hebrew) is that the original form of Hebrew (Biblical Hebrew) contained no vowels. Israeli Hebrew does. So, suggesting that YHVH is actually YEVE might be psychologically useful in some way but it's really imposing a later linguistic structure on an earlier one.

That being said, it might still be useful to consider the relationship between Lilith and Lucifer. And if you're really interested in transposing latin and hebrew roots, I suggest looking into the English Kabbalah.

'eve' in hebrew is chavah, ChVH (chet, vav, heh). not HVH (heh, vav, heh). this suggests the personal name is slightly different from the root word meaning 'giver of life' (as well as other things, including some kind of sumerian pun on 'rib'). but in any case, theres a chet.

of course, theres permutations...
