I'm currently working my way through this and am in two minds. I partly think that it is one of the most startling books that I have read for a while, totally frank and refreshingly written from the female viewpoint. However I also think that it is often ridiculously over intellectual, pretentious and lacks any sense of humour. What do you think? Anyone feel the same way or is it just me or perhaps down to the translation? If so has anyone read it in the French?!
