CryptoSigil?

When I was asking for questions for the CryptoFAQ, someone asked weather or not cryptography could tie into sigil work (grant?). I would think it could. If I understand sigil work correctly, the point is that the sigil itself does not directly call up memory of what it represents. In this way, you can bring magickal focus to bear on the sigil without calling up the associated baggage - desire for the object, fear of not attaining it, etc, etc. The entire point of cryptography involves making certain that the plain-text can not be immediately resolved from the cipher.

What do you folks think of the concept of a 'CryptoSigil'?

From my understanding (limited),a sigil is already an encoded representation of your desires, and if it were possible to formulate such a thing as a cryptogrammatic sigil, surely the process must begin with the conscious desire manifest in some form, then lead to the sigilisation process,in which that desire is brought into reality through the usual way: the sigil is translated into a form more readily absorbed by the unconscious.
Obfuscating the intention before making the sigil through cryptography would produce a cipher,or key ,as well as a more significant conscious event, which may not be what you want.
Using this key would unlock the code, but what is encoded? The intention? The sigil? And,in the process of trying to forget the sigil, what part does the cipher play,if the sigil has to be destroyed or buried?

I remember when grant (morrison) first mentioned the use of sigils in volume one of invisibles. I sent him a letter asking about using shorthand in the creation of sigils. I sent it again when the first part of "pop magic" appeared on his site and he replied saying he thought it was a useful idea.
I have also experimented with braking down the initial desire then turning the remaining constants into dingbats in photoshop (for the only reason that I found it easier to create an image out of a medium [the dingbats] that lent themselves to this manipulation).
Unfortunately the desire was one that was hard to forget and so the sigil didn't work, but I believe the theory is strong, and there are some wonderfully arcane dingbats out there if you know where to look.

interesting that having just replied to the serpent topic
i just got an insight into the possible nature of both
:shapes/images associated with a concept (possibly further defined by a sound/s)create electromagnetic pathways (thoughts?)which in the process of quantic interaction define our perceived universe...
...maybe
