Now that Kerry is our President.

What magickal steps could/should we take to insure that his is a good term? I mean, a lot of us were very eager to magickally rig the election to get him in office , but now that he’s there, lets help him out.

Suggestions?

Let's work to keep his head clear. We don't want him getting twisted by his new power. Let's help Kerry do all the great things he promised by making sure he remembers those things at all times. And maybe send him some candy or something

God, I'm so glad Kerry took Ohio in the end (and Iowa). It was looking scary there for a while, but Kerry pulled out a last-minute victory worthy of the 2004 Red Sox!!

ummm what Ohio are you referring to?

This is called "positive thinking" and "assuming the desired scenario has already happened."

oohhh so you are using GW tactics

Positive thinking is all well and good, but... I just heard on the news that Kerry privately conceded to GW, and is expected to make it public this afternoon. Also, it seems that republicans once again control the House and Senate.

Please don't hurt me.

I have checked various sites and it's true--Kerry has conceded.

Somehow, though, it doesn't feel like anything is over. But if it is, I am not going to be bitter and hateful--it makes nothing better and could make things a whole lot worse.

My face still knows how to smile, I still love the people I loved yesterday, and there is plenty of good in the world no matter who won

See? It's not so hard. Let's just see what happens for now.

Yeah. I'm still trying to think positive though. I mean, if we could survive eight years of Reagan and 4 years of GW, then 4 more shouldn't be that difficult... hell, maybe he'll end up looking like an even bigger idiot this time around. I mean, the earth's been around for billions of years now, so four years, when you think about it that way, ain't that big a deal.

And just because a republican's president doesn't mean change won't happen. I mean, during Bush's term, of all people, gay marriages became legal (how long they'll stay legal is another question entirely). I think that their is a curious design at work here, and this is all part of the design. I guess we just need to go with the flow and see where it takes us. Perhaps there's some cosmic meaning to all this that we just can't see yet because we're too close to it.

Hey, worse comes to worse I can always move to Canada.

Canada is looking really good at the moment. Maybe we can start a barb-colony there.

Hey, if the Barb-colony goes into effect, sign me up! It's so pretty up there...

Well there is a bright side to this election, it looks like my city will finally have a decent public transit system.

I can't help but thinking, "If only I'd changed my name too!"

Y'all do have a colony here. Although I prefer to think of it more as an infection, but you say tomato and all. Ah well. Best wishes, positive energy and screaming laughing fits to all who are as bummed out by this as I was. I send my sunny day and happy serendipities your way (I stumbled on an antiques bonanza in a nearby old-folks-mall. This is just history happening, and no matter what happens in the world today, I'm still glad to be here).

I suggest Vancouver or at least BC. You will enjoy our weather better than back east.

Alternately, you could continue sending 'kerry is in power' vibes, and set him up as the king that never was.

Fictional terms in office are the hardest to kill, after all.
