A bump up from the Grey Area thread - who is coming along and when? I had a late night last night so may arrive early and leave earlyish, to catch the rest of the election night shenanigans with a cold flannel over my eyes...
I'll be there - am anxious to actually gett in sering as I'll have to purchase day membership and will probably be there for the duration - I have taken the next day off...
Down with flu. Someone text me the results. You can also listen to anti-election radio foolishness on Resonance FM courtesy of my own Tango Mango and the Kosmische Show from 10-11:30pm.
I hate the flu.
I'm hoping to be there about 6.
How popular do people expect this to be? Are we going to struggle to get seats? Any chance it'll have reached capacity by the time us working stiffs leave the office?
Well the ICA website is saying it starts at 8pm, and obviously no real election coverage will start before midnight, so it's all a bit tricky... I think arriving around 6-6.30ish is as good a plan as we're going to get.
I've got my class tonight, but "dude! I'm so there!" Depending on whether I ditch out for the 2nd half or stick around 'til the end, I'll be there sometime between 7:45 and 9:30...
I'd originally cleared Wednesday morning, and had planned to come along to this - but now have to cover for a grossly irresponsible colleague, and am having a knackering day today. I'm beginning to have cold feet...
Aw come on 'Nesh - mid-week drinking to stupid excess is a great and noble tradition - particularly while watching election coverage - what better way to unwind after a hard day?
I'm at my evening class, still recovering from the weekend and saving my liver for Catalan shenanigans in Spain next week, so I'm not there. Hope y'all are having a good time.
Such fun. Particularly when the early exit polls began to register a three, four point positive for Kerry. It was like a CND rally back in the day, just without the woolly hats. Respect to the Barbelites taking the mic and shouting out for Liberty and Justice and All that good stuff. Wish Smoothly Weaving had hung around till we got to the disinhibited, group huggly stuff later on.
I guess Grey Area stayed home at the Hilton with the pay-per-view porn.
After waking up to this nightmare,I would so love to come and get completely fucking pissed with you guys, but the missus has made me promise to go to the fucking cinema tonight.
The Plough is on museum street in bloomsbury, near the British Museum. I might come along to this, exhausted after an eight hour ritual last night involving a bottle of rum and a bottle of whisky, but I don't much fancy being stuck in the flat with a hangover and the prospect of idiotboy and his evil empire still running things.
I'll probably drop in - what Lady means, btw, which I didn't get at first possibly due to sleepy, is that ze will hang around till 6, and then stay latter if people arrive. I'd hang in a little longer, Lady - people will be coming from work...
"I guess Grey Area stayed home at the Hilton with the pay-per-view porn."
The election coverage was obscene enough. Couldn't make it to the ICA, as the evening focus group took a lot longer than expected. Next time I'm asking for accommodation closer to the city centre, damnit all.
In retrospect, I should have spent the evening watching europorn and denying reality.
Nah, I had fun anyway. And it was fun teasing Flyboy about his Hugh Grant hairdo. Can't not have the highs just 'cause the subsequent lows are fucking awful. Bet that stupid Bush fan who bravely spoke up is having simultaneous orgasms and doing Nelson Munce impersonations.
