You should read through the other threads on this topic. The majority of work has been to bring strength and appeal to Kerry while lessening the appeal of Bush by exposing his ignorance, and/or trying to bring Bush and Cheney to a place of greater compassion and awareness of their actions.

popular vote will be very important this time, to provide a reasonable supporting mandate for the winner should the electoral vote go all florida again. quite possibly once the electoral vote has be stalemated out, the supreme court will look to the popular vote to cast the decider. that's why dems should vote their man even in the states kerry's bound to lose.

i'm thousands of miles away, but i know this. the dems'll lose if they've not been stressing that to the 'no point voting in this state' types.

I wrote this in an email to a fellow Barbelither just now:

We still have a chance to influence the next 10 days and the vote-counting/legal battles/provisional ballot stuff. Bush is leading by something like 100,000 votes in Ohio but there are around 250,000 provisional ballots yet to be counted, maybe more. If most of those are for Kerry, he could still in it.

And New Mexico and Iowa still haven't been called yet.

I feel like all we can do is think positively and continue to give the Kerry campaign our best vibe. And don't admit defeat at this point.

DON'T GIVE UP!!!! Even if there is only a 40% of Kerry pulling out a victory, isn't that worth magickally fighting for???

Speakin' of magic... MSNBC networks were proclaiming Bush the winner in Ohio (and at large) throughout the past 12 hours. This is obviously NOT the case - "Dewey defeats Truman?"
