Check this, as they used to say... Is this the start of a new era? The continuation of an old one? Or more agonisingly attenuated death throws? A bitter old has been, shameless milking long ago success?

Whatever, I find it very hard to believe that anyone's really actually looking forward to this. Including, I suspect, Jim Bob himself. *Will anyone show up ?* *If they do, will they can me off stage ?* and *Is it too late to retrain as a psychotherapist ?* are among the questions I'd imagine Jim Bob is possibly asking himself now.

I just hope he's doing this for ego-related reasons, rather than financial ones.

Ummm, am I missing something here? Jim Bob is making music- what's the big deal? I don't see giant Carter logos all over the website or anything.

I've seen Fruitbat's band Abdoujaparov play a bunch of times , and they're pretty good.

I have a scar from a Carter gig. Its next to my eye.

This is deeper joy imho.

Wow, maybe Ned's Atomic Dustbin and the Wonder Stuff will reform next!

Or maybe - just maybe - we'll be lucky, and the UK will be nuked into oblivion first.

The Wonderstuff have released an album this year. While it's apparently a Miles Hunt solo record in all but name, I think it's probably still time to batten down the hatches.

as well as the wonderstuff I thought i'd seen something about Ned's atomic dustbin reforming as well- and a quick google of their name reveals - yup they're on tour in december.

Come on Fly-boy keep up! Drop the Girls Aloud shit- its time for the fraggle revival
just keeping my fingers crossed for Back to the planet and Mega City Four...
Now where did I put my longsleeved jamie Hewlett senseless things 1991 tour shirt...

well, performing old Carter songs seems to be an integral part of the tour, but m'kay, maybe the thread was a bit misleadingly titled, it's not Carter as was, as such. And I had no idea Fruitbat was also still at it, btw. Oh and Glandmaster, I know someone with scars from a Carter gig in their eyes, a result of a much misguided attempt at crowd surfing by a very large man... talk about "you fat bastard"!
