OK you lovely people, I need help. I'm writing a screenplay which involves Hollywood, problem is I have no practical experience regarding the inner workings.
This isn't information to help me break in, it's purely for the writing.

I need information regarding the function of the people who help keep the celebrity thing chugging along, specifically PA's, Agents and the like.

Also, any photographers who can tell me about the workings of photoshoots and the experience of being freelance and being on payroll would be invited to share their knowledge.

Any web-resources, recommendations of books etc. are appreciated. If anybody is willing to field a few PM's from me then that would also earn my pure and overwhelming gratitude.

I have no insider experience, but Glamorama by Brett Easton Ellis has always seemed pretty good on the subject of the media industry, at least good enough for the purposes of faking working knowledge in a screenplay, anyway.

Good luck !

Thanks for the tip. My sister says she may have a copy lying in a pile somewhere so I'm going to have a hunt around for it. I think I can get away with it because the day-to-day workings of the system are not what I'm really exploring, but it's getting tripped up on the little things that I'm wary of. This should do fine.

Ta.
