My wife and I just saw the film "What the Bleep Do We Know" and I have to say that, not only was it fantastic and wonderfully thought-provoking, it was also the best, most concise explanation of magick I've seen to date. Very resonant with a lot of the things I've been pursuing in my own path. I highly recommend seeing it at your earliest convenience.

Shit. I bet this takes ages to come to Britain too. If it makes a DVD release in America before a theatrical over here, I may have to buy it.

It looks exciting. I might have to overcome my distaste for movie theatres and go see it...

There's a whole tread about this film over in the Film section. I'd link to it but I'm at work and shouldn't be online.

Wow. I just bought this out of curiosity and watched it, and it's really quite amazingly bad. There are two good people interviewed (Amit Goswami and a dude at the centre for consciousness studies) and basically it takes two hours to badly try to express what Goswami sums up in a sentence i.e. 'the fundamental nature of reality is consciousness'.

Gosh it's bad. It's like a smugathon interspersed with crappy animated caricatures of emoticons and dance numbers, full of people spouting meaningless gibberish and using the word quantum as a passport to Bullshitania.

Gosh it's bad.

yes its bad,

not for what it tries to convince,'

but for how badly it does it, mixing some good ideas about conciousness with such crap "science" makes the good ideas look bad.

i mean, that shit with the photos of water crystals, and some incredible leaps of logic, a couple of times they use metaphors to prove points. you just cant do that.

Just wait 'till you see The Secret. It gets even better. And by "better" I mean more dumbed-down, more quasi-scientific, and more crassly materialistic.

Sorry...just got back from Sedona. I'm always cranky with the new age stuff after a visit to Mecca.

I actually really enjoyed it, didn't feel like it said anything new but I had fun watching it, and I think it made people think about things a little more and presented an interesting theory of two.
Having said that, I heard recently that theres some suing going on as one of the guys interviewed feels they took everything he said out of context and presented it so he looks like hes saying the opposite of what he actually tried to, and of course all the comments on bad science...

But then, I enjoyed Lexx.

Sorry about the lack of hard examples, I watched it about a year ago.
