World-crossing

I was wondering if any of you would know where I could find information of ways of crossing between worlds. Mysterious crossroads, incantations, funky Tesla-esque machines - or anything along those lines. Anyone gone somewhere else and returned to tell us about it?

The only mechanism that I've encountered in my studies that has any relevance to this would be the usage of substances such as DMT, although as Grant Morrison described it on the DisinfoCon DVD, he had a world-jumping experience on hash as well. I guess it depends on your belief as to exactly what constitutes traveling between worlds, and whether or not neurochemical and perceptual alteration can be construed as such.

Hmm. I'm mostly looking for info on physical ways to cross worlds - at the moment I'm working from a paradigm of literal alternate universes, kinda like the Evil Alternate Universe in Star Trek (or ten million other SF stories, I'm sure), but thanks for the information nonetheless.

Nine Days, Nine Worlds

Also, who makes Dr. Pepper?

I've found that at different points in my life, the soft drink Dr. Pepper has had radically different histories. When I was a child, Dr. Pepper was made, bottled, and sold by Coca-Cola and had always been so. This was verifiable by hard research, as my dad was fond of making me do research whenever I asked a question (it discouraged pointless questions). My first two years of college, Dr. Pepper had always been an independent company until it was bought out by Pepsi. This was on their website. In a friend's universe, Dr. Pepper was made by Cadbury-Schweppes, had always been so, and this was verifiable by hard research. The universe I currently occupy, Dr. Pepper and 7up seem to be made by one independent company. I have met many other people with this experience-- including one for whom this experience occurred after he made a deliberate effort to cross worlds. Seems trivial, but if you have accidentally crossed over it's the trivial things you need to look for. A similar phenomenon seems to exist with whether or not bamboo is capable of growing in Florida.

Tried tearing the veil once in order to light a candle by will alone (okay, I was in high school). I didn't get across the veil, but I was able to affect things there, and I managed to get the candle lit not in this physical world but in its nearest shadow, if you will. Thought I'd failed and wandered off, only to be warned by my intuition to go back and put it out. The air was hot over the candle"flame" and nowhere else. Not very successful or dramatic, mind you.

I was once at a cottage with two friends who were both occultists as well. It was the day of weird dimension-y stuff. While Randy and Ian were inside cleaning Ian of some parasitic spirit thing (I never really did understand the full details of what was going on there), Ian had asked me to take a look at a pentagon of trees he'd planted out in the front yard. I might have been there when his family bought the place, not sure on that either. Anyway, he wanted me to take a look and see if it needed a sixth, or if it was channeling well the way it was.

So I go out there, center, perform some off the cuff "energy dowsing" with a knife, dropped it in to the posotion where the sixth tree would be planted, and the circuit just sort of...completed itself. THen, while I was seeing how the energy in the trees worked, I got an image of a gateway. There was a definite feeling that those trees set up to lead ...somewhere else. I didn't try to go there, but it was there.

Oddly enough, Ian and I were walking through the woods near his cottage one time when we entered a circle of trees, looked at each other, and said: "They don't want us here". We got the strongest feeling that the circle of trees was for...something else, or something else...and whatever they were they didn't want us there. I've had this experience on a ravine trail near an old house of mine. And only once. As I walked down the trail the air seemed to get thicker, the forest a bit closer, and I got the most distinct feeling that I was not wanted at that time.

I have a friend, Steve, who used to practice astral projection until his wife got freaked out by the fact that his travelling was basically preceded by a self-induced seizure. I've tried to get OBEs before, but the most I've gotten is this feeling that there's a whole lot of energy in my body, and the flesh is holding it in and won't let it got. It's like...buzzing with power, directing that power, but not being able to get out. I can see why Irene thought he was having seizures, with involuntary muscle contractions, funny noises, and staring very intently at the ceiling and all that.
