Has anyone seen this film? Does't the speaking disembodied brain in a tank evoke some feelings of Doom Patrol? Also ther e is an allusion to Morpheus. It's a story of a man who can't dream so he steals the dreams of childern. What do you think? I really love this film. Does anybody know if Jeunet is a comic book reader?

I think most of France are comic readers! The film is good, but is it still only available as the dubbed version?

I have a region 1 disc and it is both dubbed in French and English. There are optional English subtitles. You might want to get an all region player so that you can watch dvds from around the world. Do you have a region 2 disc?

Dear me no, I had an old VHS that was in French, but always meant to update, but only ever saw the words (english language version) on any cover I checked, so put it to the back of my mind. Good to know that the Region 1 is multi-language though.

I have it on DVD and I really liked it. Thought it was a bit long, though. It started to grate after a while but well worth a look.

A superb film. I love all of Jeunet's work, yes, even Aliens Resurrection. It's always so visually immersive and imaginative- I was trying to put together a Cyclops costume for Halloween a couple years ago. I can't wait to see what he pulls out of his hat next.

Not to derail the thread too much, but has anyone played the Playstation game? Is it worth trying?

I have played the game version of this movie. A tricky puzzler which follows the movies script some nice scenes but a bit short. Probably worth it if you were a fan of the movie. I remember when it came out first it rec'd pretty mixed reviews anywhere between 36 and 96% make of it what you will.

Tis a disc I like to bring out after parties, when I've a captive audience of drug burned brains to inflict it upon. I *love* the flea bit. The creepy music really gets under your skin. The Octopus was excellent, too. Its overall a bit slow, but so very pretty. And very French. But its got Ron Perlman, narcoleptic sextoplets that look like Robin Williams, a brain in a jar, horrific Santas, and the stealing of dreams. I dug is muchly.

The game was crap. Fucking pixel hunt of the worst kind. Pretty, but not terribly playable.

I've always thought the dubbed English version added to the not quite right atmosphere of the film. I like it that way.
