So, I'm wondering which movies or comics reminded you the most of your drug trips. Is 2001 the be all and end all, or has something else done better?

Although I've never done drugs, Alan Moore's SWAMP THING descriptions of tuber trips, acid trips, etc. always seemed to me that they'd be the most evocative and closest to the actual thing. Or maybe a few scenes scattered throughout Morrison's INVISIBLES.

nonononono

the bit in flex mentallo where he just tells you what he's done, and

'shit, i must be coming up on that acid.

you should see that cigarette.'

that cigarette is a perfect one-panel flashback, never ever seen trippiness done that good,

except for the between-scenes shots of the house in hangin' wit' mr. cooper here they put kind of cg-dayglo squiggles over the trees and that.

woooooaaah, tripppy

Pretty much all of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas bears a pretty decent resemblance to many pot-buzzes I've had, as far as the intense paranoia whenever you're in a public venue goes. I've never done that many drugs at once, however. Is it even possible?

There was that scene in the Doors when they all drop acid in the desert and Val Kilmer kept doing that Stevie Wonder thing with his neck. Before I had dropped LSD for the first time, I didn't understand the neck thing. But with my first time on acid, there was this weird sensation in my neck muscles that could only be relieved by twisting my head from side-to-side. Like Stevie Wonder, or Val Kilmer. So that was an interesting little detail.
