Nothing spectacular, I just like how he opened the interview by making fun of Identity Crisis.

Sounds great, though I'll probably be lost. I'm not a JLA guy at all, just used to the Marvel side of the fence. Are there other good Morrison/JLA books I should pick up? The only one I've read is Earth 2 which was pretty good.

You're probably talking to the wrong guy but I'm not fond of Morrison's JLA. Earth 2 excellent but his JLA didn't work for me except for some shining moments in the first trade (New World Order), the Prometheus story and the last one.

I'll still be picking this one up.

Loved Morrison's JLA. Really very happy about this Seven Soldiers-verse stuff. Excellence.

Spacemonkey, I would go for the TPB Justice For All (Book 5). The lead story introduces the Ultramarines, you have a couple of non-Morrison filler issues that aren't too bad (Millar's is quite fun) and the second Morrison story "Crisis Times Five!" is very indicitive of the type of writing you'll find elsewhere in his JLA run (a two-levelled threat, guests to help the JLA, a clever solution, and check logic at the door).

If there's a bit too much history and/or continuity involved in that book for you, the first book New World Order is a good alternative as well. Introduces all the characters pretty well and establishes Grant Morrison's uber-version of Batman, which sounds like it'll be important for this new story.

I'm a little nervous about a JLA story that stars mostly not the JLA, but people like characters from the League of Batmen, but I trust Grant.

yeah, morrison's REALLY FUCKING RUBBISH at taking little known dc characters and making them the best thing ever.

And it's the set up for , aaaand it's gonna play the JLA as cosmic super-gods, so who cares?

As long as you like that kind of thing, it'll rock.

Thanks for the suggestions. I picked up New World Order TPB at my local comic shop today. I looked around in a couple other shops and couldn't find Justice For All.

Umm, why does Superman have a mullet?

The mullet's in honour of Greg Evigan.

New World Order rocks- you have no idea how long I've been waiting for Green Lantern to say "kiss my ring" to Superman.
