Forgive the double post people, this is for those of you who never go into "the ghetto" that is The Temple.

I'm giving a talk at Treadwells Books in Covent Garden on the 11th October as part of a series of lectures on Tantra given by the group I'm in. Mine is on the Hindu Guru/Yogi Dattatreya, and as I say in the (badly written) blurb "'I aim to give a short examination of his history, and using this as a jumping-off point for other Tantric themes, including a look at my own practice; I hope to provide a case study of how study and personal experience might combine in modern tantra."

Any 'lithers who can make it will be more than welcome. £5 entrance. Best to book it advance, Treadwells phone is 020 7240 8906. Thanks folks! Will bump this again nearer the time.

Sting will be there but he will be consigned to getting the post talk wine ready upstairs and will not be allowed downstairs into Illmatics talk until the end. No doubt he'll be wearing those Tantric pants from Dune and will proberly piss off at some point to wander around Covent Garden to bond with some car-spray-painted mimes for a bit...

The talk starts at 7.30 so getting there for 7.15 is best and like Ill says best to book in advance. Looking forward to it. Illmatic is a huge well of great tantric knowledge so it should be fab.

And considering his upcoming Teacher status i'm looking forward to being sent to the corner of the room for sniggering over the dirty stuff!

I don't meant to hijack Illmatic's thread with self-promotion of my own, but I'm going to anyway, cos its at the same venue. I did a talk on hoodoo and folk magic a while back, that various barbelith types attended. Been asked to give it again at Treadwells this monday coming (Oct 4th) if anyone is interested. Will be broadly the same talk that I did last time, but with a less drunken and possibly more considered Q&A bit afterwards. Which might be entertaining...

Wow, I hadn't heard of Treadwell's before, it sounds fantastic. If I can I will come along to both these talks as I am sure they will both be really interesting. And looking at their events page it looks like most of their talks are interesting too.

I’m giving a talk on the life and work of Wilhelm Reich at Treadwells on Thursday, 1st of September. £5 on the door, please book in advance. If I can get it all in, I’m going to try and cover his life and major theretical discoveries, my experiences using techniques derived from his therapy, his comments on mysticism as well as indicating the range and unity of his work. Details on Treadwells can be found here but the events link seems a bit screwed at the moment (the blurb is pretty awful anyhow) but please come if you can. You can book in advance via phone.

You don't have to pay in advance, but ringing and putting your name down will get the numbers up/show interest. I'm sure you will be okay turning up on the night though, I'm not anticpating people hanging from rafters (even though it will be very good, even if I do say so myself).

51st Lady, I went in to visit Treadwells earlier this month with Mordant and a nicer bunch of ladies you will not find. The two ladies who were in the shop at the time were just fabulous and friendly and welcoming and well, just the epitomy of what you don't find elsewhere.

I'd call in advance, just so they have your name down, but other than that they are really relaxed and welcoming.

I'm away on my first holiday in forever (well ok, two or three years) otherwise I would so be there.
