Lilly Nowhere Late
09:08 / 29.09.04
Here goes the Drones Club again. This should suffice for a Stokie meet up. It's at The Eye, 79-81 Stoke Newington High Street, N16.
Thursday October 7th, 8pm until late *£3*
Featuring:
Stella Maris Droen Orchester
Disinformation v. Stella Maris Drone Orchestra
Mr. Fireman
Al the Megaphone Poet

Resonance FM & Kosmische DJ's

I think Mr. Fireman is from Sons of Silence and interested parties should understand the rest of the references. If not, you'll just have to come along to find out fer yerself.
I'm not promising dancing girls or anything...
Won't you come?

I hate seeing 0 replies. Won't anyone be about for this? Doesn't anyone like to see/hear experimental musik and psychedelic light shows? They do have a (not too overpriced) bar as well...

I didn't see this in time.

And I was a fan of the Sons of Silence long long before they got spaced out and started hanging out with zombies.

What do you mean you didn't see it in time Anna? There's still time. It's on tomorrow(thursday) night. You can still make it.
Sons of Silence and zombies, what more to life is there I ask!

I also hate seeing so few replies. Its not as if I’m going to make it to this or anything, but I’d like to do my bit by saying how wonderful it sounds, and what a rotten life it is that all these glorious things happen so far away, and that anyone living in London would be mad not to grasp fully the many delights the capital has to offer.

Grasp the Sons of Silence, grasp those zombies! Your grandchildren will thank you for all the wonderful tales you’ll have to tell them. Memories that will last a lifetime, only 3 pounds to you, kids.

Well thanks for that. How sweet.

The show was very good. Top quality musicianship and noise like you might not suppose. And disco lights from Woolworth's as our oil light man has his van burned out on Wednesday night.

O well, there'll be more of The Drones Club, so maybe some of you can make it next time.

ONLY NICE THINGS

To add my voice to the chorus - this does sound like a lot of fun - I'm sorry I didn't make it. Although, in a moment of menopausal madness, I realised that I would have had to phone up one of my younger friends and ask what one *wears* to a night of drone these days...

What one wears? I don't think there is any other event in London less concerned with fashion to be honest. I think beards are sometimes appropriate, what with all the chin stroking before the rock out bits. I personally decline beards, they just don't suit me.

Maybe you can make it next month. I would so love to host a little barbelith table with the likes of you.

Wish I could have gone to this. I like a good drone.
