Flufeemunk's Login Dillema

Flufeemunk is having trouble loging into the Barb, and he has asked me to post his problem here for him, being that he is unable to do so himself.

So now, without further ado, I give you "The Great Barbelith Login Crisis":

"Hello. I cannot seem to login. Luckily I have Ten's AIM screen name and can communicate with him, but I (obviously) can't post, much to my chagrin. I did not put my email in my profile, and I cannot get my password. For some reason, my password (which SHOULD work, being as I only have two passwords that I mix and match for all occasions) does not work. I have e-mailed Tom, but he seems to be slow on the email checking. Mainly, I am just wondering if you have any hypotheses about what could be causing my dilemma."

By the way, until Tom gets back to you could you point us to one of Flufeemunk's posts? I'm just a bit worried that the suit might need watching in case it's been stolen by one of our old friends (especially given that one of them's just had their own suit locked out again). As long as we've got the link to Flufeemunk's profile, it'll be easier to spot any troll behaviour should the display name be changed.

There's more than likely a more innocent explanation, but just as a precaution.

It's possible that his suit has become corrupt, or that the password has somehow been altered (possibly you tapped in something in the password field by mistake while changing your username?)... ultimately, it may be easier to put in a request for a new suit, and put in your email address...

Until Tom gets to it, though, I don't think there's anything else we can do...

Have you tried going into your browser cookies and deleting the Barbelith cookie, out of curiousity? Clearing cookies can fix an awful lot.

There's nothing moderators can do about this one - we're limited to editing posts and threads and don't have any access to stuff involving usernames and passwords. The only solution I can think of is for him to get in touch with Tom and register a new usename.

If plasticbag is anything to go by Tom is around atm, have you tried PMing him? When I did he answered straight away.
