Wow that was really scary, I making some soup and my right eye started to go "weird" its hard to decribe it was like there was flashing on the outer edges and I couldn't see normally. I'm really freaked out right now, I've been having problems with my neck again and thought that this was the end and I was having some kind of attack.

It's gone away mostly now but I'm still pretty shaken, it was kinda like a roof fan near the end like something was above me moving....

And no it's not drugs although I did just have a little smoke which made me even more paranoid I bet.

I even phoned my folks in case I dropped dead, my dad said it sounded like a migrane, it probably was.

Um I feel better typing this, just in case I'm not here in the morning....

If I'm still here I'll go to the doctor.

If not divide the DVD's amongst yourself and don't fight too much over the Tool CDs

Sounds like migraine to me. It's the flashes that give it away. Blueish purple, fading to green when you close your eyes just on the edge of your vision?

Then again, achy neck not a good sign. I'm not a doctor, but have you got any rashes? If you have, go see a doctor.

Sounds like you have a queer eye, Straight Guy.

Could be a migraine, although odd to have it in just the one eye. Assuming you didn't just get steam in your eye, or a splash of soup or something.

Can't really speculate on this. Needs examining, really.

You might check this out. Several barbeloids have described something similar when about to experience a migraine.

When I get migraines, they start as a blur or a shift in vision in one eye. Some people get tunnel vision, but there's more than one kind of migraine.

Yeah, sounds migranous. I'm sure you'll be fine, but do check in with the doctor when you get the chance, just in case.

I give good Indian head (massage). That'll chill you out. And avoid that brand of soup in future.

Check it out, but it sounds pretty much identical to the first time I ever had a migraine (thought I weas either going blind or having a brain haemorrhage).
Hope you feel better in the morning.

Beer good... soup BAD. (Note- this last bit is not authorised medical advice).

Cheers people I'm just back from the doctor now, he did all the normal stuff blood pressure and blinded me with a light, he reckons it's probably related to the problems with my neck pressure and all that causing the massive headaches which can effect vision.

I think I just freaked out a little and my housemate didn't help by telling me that the same thing happened to someone he knew and it was a stroke

Hightlight of the night though was a hosiptial security guard trying to stick a sign on an automatic door an automatic door that opened whenever he tried to go near it - comedy gold.

Glad you're okay. I got 'visual migraines' for a while - just the weird eyesight, no pain - and the first time I was really scared, so i understand how you felt.

Glad you don't have meningism (although, conversely, I can thoroughly recommend men in jism...).
