Just incase anybody new's interested, I'm briefly considering new contributions to Generation Hex:

Imaginary Mongoose Solutions
17:33 / 13.09.04
Hmm... might be worth submitting something that isn't stripped of all of its soul by my speeding to meet an onrushing deadline.

BiaS- Per the description on the Disinfo page, I would LOVE to contribute an article. (Especially after the Disinfo workshop at Omega - nudge nudge) When is the deadline? Any format issues? Ah, heck, I'll PM ya.

No, I think he ought to post them. Disinfo's something I'd love to be part of, but as an typical American, I can't be "arsed" to search through the website for an idea of what NEEDS to be discussed or contributed.

Who here HAS contributed? Who's a frequent reader? What do you feel Gen Hex could use?

I agree - I didn't mean to indicate that he should only send the info to me - in fact I hope he posts it to this forum.

From what I've heard there have been a number of articles submitted, but as Chad said, who has submitted them? Is there a "tone" to the book?

I believe quite a few people here sent stuff months ago.

Best way to get me material is in .doc, .pdf or .txt files. .rtf also acceptable. I am generally looking for articles in the area of 5,000 words but you can be flexible with that.

As far as content, I don't "NEED" anything, thanks. I'm happy, however, to work with you individually to discuss your current interests and areas of expertise, and discuss what might fit the book.

Well I don't NEED sarcasm. What I meant was, are there areas of discourse that are not developed? Are there opportunities for graphic work? Perhaps I will PM you BIAS.

You got mine (sent it to you via email around 9 months ago), right, BoyInA?

In terms of graphic work, I would need to see samples of work from anyone interested, but there is likely room for that. Undeveloped discourse? Good material. That's my only criteria, sorry can't narrow it down more than that since this is not meant to be a Carroll-style textbook; it's about the emotional content of people's experiences.

Re: graphics. A big part of my understanding is through drawings or graphic illustrations. So I'm assuming those can be contributed if they're a: related to the article and b: fit within the length requirements?

Yes! I still have a chance to see my name in print. I'll start typing up a submission today.

Whatever happened to Generation Hex, Boy? Is it still in the pipeline at Disinfo?

Cool cover (Laffoley's the best). I really hope the article I contributed got cut though... I was rereading it recently and it made me cringe.

Nice work - the cover looks fantastic. Congratulations on making this a reality!

Also, the little animation of Boy In A Suitcase getting the cash from everyone on the "Buy" page of the website is pretty funny.

Well done!

Blimey! Is that just a coincidence, or do you think someone at Time has their ear to the ground in such areas? A bit of a weird coincidence if it is such.

Part of me is with Sypha Nadonn on this, because I feel like my contribution was more than a little bit weak, but part of me wants to finally see something of mine in print, even if it is a rather flat piece in my oppinion.

Then again, I write mostly fiction. I'm much better at narratives than essays.

Anyway.

So...I hear rumors that this is finally coming out this week.

When Boy in a Suitcase first requested submissions, I started working on a nice little essay for the book. An hour into writing the essay, my power went out. For three days. I throw up my hands and go on to working on something else. Power comes back on. I open up the essay again. The laptop crashes. I reboot the laptop. It crashes again. The power in my apartment goes out again. The laptop has to go in to the repair shop for six weeks, and is returned with the hard drive erased. I'm working on the handwritten notes for the essay. They blow into the lake, and sink from view immediately. I decide not to continue writing the essay, lest a meteor come through the roof and land on my head.

After all that, I'm dying to find out what DID make it into the book.

Damn. Is it too late to contribute? I just joined Barbelith last week...and, Good God, this sounds cool.

We so ARE Generation Hex.

Oh, an Logos...man dude, that sucks.

Funny though.

Look at me. I'm laughing at another person's misfortune...

I'm a terrible person.

Oh well. Back to topic.
