OMFG! Just been to see this, still reeling from it. Not since 'Ring' (Japanese version) have I shat it so badly. This is the water movie to end all - lo-fi, utterly convincing and totally nightmarish. I'm putting no spoilers here for the mo, but trust me go and see it. Concise, efficient, original, and SCARY!

Anyone else seen it yet?

Wow! No-one! Great.
Maybe if I put Star Wars in the summary...

can't wait to see this down here [not showing in south america yet], JAWS is one of my favourite movies and the mere thought of being abandoned in open waters infested with sharks is shit-provoking on itself to me.

there's an interesting [spoiler-free] article at Salon.com, if you search for it, with some interesting info on the production at Sundance. barracudas being more dangerous than sharks, how they attracted the animals etc.

I saw it a couple months ago.

I dunno, I mean when it was good, it was, as you said, pant shittingly good, but I just found the actors to be a bit blah, y'know? I was surprised to find it was barely even 80 mins, it felt way longer.

Loved the whole lightening scene most, very well done.

I saw it several weeks ago and found it ... well ... just basically dull. I liked the idea, since it focused on a potentially real situation that would be terrifying. But the longer they floated there, the less interested I became. I didn't find anything unexpected in it. The formulaic progression of recriminations and reconciliation didn't help, either.
