Which is more important: Trousers or Boots?

To wear to Motherfucker tonight:

Option 1. Black Leather Trousers. Would have to be accompanied by black shoes.
Option 2. Blue Jeans. Look good with my snazzy brown boots.

I'm slightly more in favor of the boots, because black leather jeans just feel sort of silly. On the other hand, I wear the boots often. When the hell else am I going to get a chance to wear the leather pants?

Why do you possess a pair of jeans you think are "sort of silly" and consequently almost never wear? Assuming it's not ridiculously hot this evening, I'd go with the leathers.

I’m pretty sure the relative wrongness/rightness of leather trousers entirely depends on the legs that are wearing them. Nothing else matters too much. If you’ve got the legs to wear leather trousers, then no-one’s ever going to give a shit what you’re wearing as long as it doesn’t cover you up too much.

Wore the jeans.

Because the leather pants... a girlfriend gave them to me, and subsequent girlfriends have been very enthusiastic about me wearing them, but... I don't know. I had this sudden insight that they felt like a costume, while the boots are actually mine.

So I'm just going to have to invent occasions to wear leathers, until they feel more natural.
