Wildgirl from wildstorm

has anyone seen the solicitation for wildgirl being published by wildstorm? it is being written by leah moore (alan moore's daughter) and her co-writer is john reppion. it features art by myself for each of the six issues along with shawn mcmanus doing the main sequences. the parts that i am doing are sort of stories inside the main story and the page for those sequences vary in length from issue to issue. they also vary wildly in styles as well. this looks to be an interesting book from a creative stand point and hopefully people will find it just as interesting to read it. so i thought it might interest the barbelites. pass the word along to friends if this is interesting to you.

Would it be churlish of me to suggest she'd still be pulling pints if her dad wasn't a bearded bloke who thinks he's a wizard?

One would think so, but I was impressed with the little I've read of hers. So maybe the fruit hasn't fallen far from the tree, or something.

I don't think it's fair to say that kind of thing. That Paul Saveen story was good in my opinion. It was only on the second read that I noticed she'd written it. It's that good.

I think this will be good too.

(It's all good...)

Hey JH, it's good to see you doing so much work, I like those Warlock covers, and I'm looking forward to Desolation Jones too...

hey there optimistic
glad somebody has seen the warlock stuff i have done. there is a total of 6 covers for that to come out. they were colored by the amazing dave stewart. it was fun to do those because they wanted me to redisgn the character for the series itself. i think it turned out well. dave and i also have got an adventures of superman cover coming out soon as well and the next 3 jsa covers too!!!
check out wildgirl when comes out. i think that leah and john have got a good tale to tell and have written it very well. its good stuff.

I also have been digging the Warlock covers - they look beautiful!

Both Leah Moore's Tom Strong short stories were good, the one about the Strong family ape (forget his name) and the Saveen one. The Saveen one was especially prosaic as befits a Moore.

that's not really what prosaic means wolfie.

Wouldn't it be fucking funny if FinderWolf turns out to have intended the real meaning of 'prosaic'?

very well, perhaps its best not to talk of words having 'real' meaning, them being words and stuff.

'prose quality' is generally considered to be a moorish strength i suppose, and actually 'prosaic' is quite a good way of describing comics by he and others like neil and jamie that are often heavy on the captions and the purple.
sorry wolfie. if the young'ins got some of her dad's that, good luck to her.

In Leah Moore, has the comics medium at last found its own Martin Amis?

you got me -- I've been using it the wrong way lately (either making up my own definition -- or is that really a common mistake and I've heard it from others the wrong way?). Either way, glad you caught this, now I know -- and knowing is half the battle!!!
