holy crap. It's mesmerizing.

>> This auction is the proof that september 11th 2001 and the recent failed bombing of old trafford was predicted almost 15 years ago by transformers comic scribe Simon Furman.

>> I can already hear alot of you laughing of and saying this guy is nuttier than David Icke, but read the information below and see how hard it is to dispell these facts after this.

READ IT NOW!! VIEW THE PICS!!!

The pic of the wrecked, gutted stumps of the Twin Towers as a villian screams "...my symphony of TERROR!" is certainly creepy.

The best bit is after a lot of waffle about numerology and bizzare links that don't really make sense, the parenthesis "(yes i am psychic)" or something like that.

Sometimes, it seems necessary to point out to conspiracy therorists that there was a "mostly" unsuccessful terrorist bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993, so someone "predicting" the destruction of the WTC between then and 2001 isn't really all that startling.

Still, it is a bracing image...

Especially with the battered, mutilated corpse of Rodimus 'shitter than anyone else whose name ends with the word' Prime hanging between the stumps. Haunting! A hero fallen.

That storyline never made much sense: really just an excuse to resurrect Galvatron after he'd been well and truly deaded by a hole in the fabric of space and time.

Doesn't that all lead to Galvatron fighting Megatron or somesuch? Brilliant bit when Glavatron realizes that the only thing that ever held him back as Megatron was... Megatron? Good meta-villany, there.

you know the fantastic four cartoon, not the early 'benji the robot' but the early-mid nineties one used to be on the marvel action hour?

course you do. there's an episode of the that where the very first shot is a skrull fighter knocking the twin towers down with a laser blast. i last saw it on tv some time in early 2002. either a) someone lost their job or b) 'it's just a cartoon' and no-one but me noticed.

This might seem a ghoulish question but surely there must be quite a few superhero comics and disaster/science fiction films that showed the WTC being damaged or destroyed? Just as Big Ben and the White House are obvious, spectacular targets in that kind of alien-attack or titans-clashing set-piece, the WTC towers must have been featured in films like Independence Day, surely?

It's as if my mind was censored following Sept 2001 because I can't think of any. Is it true or urban myth that the first Spider-Man had a WTC scene?

Oddly, you never even seem to see the towers intact in old (pre-9/11) TV, comics and movies anymore. Maybe once in a while in a forgotten scene-transition from Friends. It seems almost shocking to see the buildings portrayed as they were: recently I came across a couple of NYC city-spreads in Preacher and Invisibles where the very background presence of WTC 1 and 2 jumped out of the page.

Again... I can't even think of any films that used the towers as a set-piece feature. I could believe that any films using them prominently wouldn't be screened on TV anymore, or might even be cut for reasons of public sensitivity, but I'm surprised I don't remember them.

Kovacs/Rorschach

The first Spider-man had some kind of WTC scene in the trailer that was cut from the first film after 9/11. Apparently - in the scene - a helicopter has a mechanical failiure and Spidey swoops in. Camera pans out to reveal the chopper webbed between the Towers.

I have no idea if it's on the DVD as a deleted scene.

It isn't. And it was a trailer that showed some crooks swooping away in a helicopter, then you heard a sound that was suggested to be webbing and then the copter stopped, and then it pulled back to reveal the copter stuck in the webbing between the twin towers. I doubt that you'll see it anywhere soon.

There was a map with a naked picture of Elshu Kuthbert showing all the next months lottery numbers on it. But I doubt you'll see THAT anywhere soon (don't let me down, google!!)

If I remember correctly, one of the final scenes of "Sid & Nancy" features a fucked-up failed Sid Vicious, a couple of days away from death, trudging through a junkyard with the Twin Towers very prominent in the background. If you watch that bit nine hundred and eleven times you can actually kinda make out the words "Osama bin Laden" reflected in a puddle of piss - spooky!

At eleven minutes past nine twenty years ago a BIN man LADENED with rubbish walked past a lady who was tall (she TOWERED over him) who had TWIN's just as SOME A MAN called OSgood threw a paper PLANE into one of the blocks of flats near the arndale shopping centre, I never thought anything of it at the time, but now....

Not only should I perhaps have Googled first -- but is Google always a substitute for human discussion -- perhaps I should start this topic on the films board?

Now, what would be really interesting is if they caught Bin Laden and found out he'd gotten the idea for 9/11 from the Transformers.....

"I want to be Optimus Bin Laden!"

I love the idea that Megatron spoke to this guy in a dream and told him what to do. But hang on - surely Megatron is not to be trusted? Now, if Optimus Prime told me to do something in a dream, on the other hand...

And isn't there an issue of X-Force (bad old Rob Liefeld iteration) that features the uber-poncy supervillain Gideon, or the Juggernaut, or someone, destroying the Twin Towers? I'm kinda sure there is...

Yeah, I think the Liefield one was X-Force/New Mutants (first series, God, I can't even believe there is a Vol. 2 by Liefeld, no less) #99 or something like that.
