You really think so? It struck me as critical of america. showing various cultures flourishing juxtaposed with corporate artifacts. Ill have to get a translation to be sure, but I thought it sarcastic. America is mostly represented, both in the song and in the video by consumerist icons. The "sometimes war" toward the end is a statement IMHO on how we excuse and trivialize our conquests by citing our way of life. Finally, the "moon landing" turns out to be a fake in the end-even our achievements have become nothing more than empty commercial creations. that's how I saw it anyway

sorry, didn't see the english lyric link. I still thought it was a critique. "this is not a love song/ I don't speak my mother tongue"="cultures have been stripped for the sake of a fake corporate dream"

I don't like hearing Rammstein in English, it just feels odd to me.

And the first time I heard that I could have sworn they sung 'Coca-Cola, Wonderbra'..

halo: that's it, first it's "wunderbar", then "wonderbra", then "sometimes war".

wanderer: that's exaclty why I think it should have been broadcast in those events...

For a moment I thought I was getting a bit errm, preoccupied...

Either way, I like the song. Evily catchy.

The lyrics lose a lot in translation...the metre works in the German version, and there's a whole raft of dark innuendo that doesn't seem to make it into the English text. Which is par for the course, I guess.

ah. when you said "could have" I assumed you meant as pro american propaganda.
