Got this today. Well I had to. I'm on the cover. Brian Bolland has obviously visited the 2k website looking for images of artists and picked one of me and my mates after Dreddcon 3 and used that by mistake.

But it's a great read anyway. Lot's of interviews with the great and the good and profiles of several departed legends.

And it's got Frank Quitley in it so you 'Lithers'll love it automatically. And so you should. For it is good.

Also from TwoMorrows, the same publisher as True Brit, a terrific Bruce Timm art book just came out - with art and lots and lots of Timm interviews. With an introduction by Grant Morrison, who positively gushes about how much he loves Timm's work. As do I.

its all too easy to get this mixed up with the british superman elseworlds tale of the same name...

Yep. Still, I can't imagine anyone would get them confused and buy the wrong one by mistake if they had the two in front of them.

Bruce Timm? Didn't he work on the Batman animated series?

Practically created the whole series and developed its stylised art-deco look and superior writing style all on his own, from what I understand. Reset the bar for western T.V. animé that had slipped since the days of Johnny Quest and the like.

This book is pretty cool, looked through it yesterday. I was sad I didn't see anything from Morrison & Rian Hughes' wonderful DARE miniseries in there, though. The Quitely interview is cool - his father's name is Vince, too!
