Quoth Crunchy:
Maybe we could start talking about what songs we'd pick if we were performing at Big Boi's strip club.
Well, if I can sneak you guys in, maybe we could do a burlesque review?
To begin, I would remove outer garments (first three petticoats) to Drinking in L.A. by Bran Van 3000. I don't think Outkast have made any secret of their admiration for the Bran Van, and Andre in particular shows a clear and clearly professed 3000 influence. Do you see?
Also, vitally, it has the kind of slow, dreamy rhythms that perfectly accompany the start of a strip, before the really aerobic bumping and grinding kicks in. Why, the very thought of that voice, declaring itself as "Stereo Mike" (A stereo mike... that might be connected to a SPEAKERBOX. Do you see?) is guaranteed to send shivers up the spines of the assembled hiphoperati. |
