If you dig X-Ray Spex, you would do well to check out one of their side-projects, Essential Logic (Laura Logic on sax and vox).

Does it seem a little strange to anyone else that there's only one punk band with a saxophonist and a female singer that springs readilly to mind?

There seem to be less punk bands with female singers, and even less with saxophones (discounting Ska revival). So, mutliply the lack of female singers by the lack of saxophones and you get a rare band indeed.

Sad, isn't it?

Any female singers and saxophone players who want to start a punk band, then hey, get in touch!

X-Ray Specs pretty much invented punk sax. Really unique sound, raucous and raunchy and up yer arse, the perfect match to Polly Styrene's throaty wails and warbles.
Fucking tragedy the Hari Krishnas got Polly, her melodic screeches are wasted on chanting.
