Not much for me to add, the reaction here makes me very happy, and I certainly don't want to drag this thing out any longer, but I have to comment on this one bit someplace.
I am offended by so many things in that thread (yet respect their rights to post them), but this quote blew me away:
Oh, one more thing, the "X-Men" movies aren't even that great, especially the sequel. The first two Batman and Superman movies are much better. Gene hackman should have got an oscar for his portrayal of Lex Luther, hell his sidekick(don't know his name) should have gotten one too. Not since Jack Lemmon and Peter Falk in the movie "The Great Race", has their been such a great pair of villans! Semper-Fidelis.
I'm not sure what's more troubling: the misuse of "their" that's such a cliche I question if this is a real post, or that somebody thinks this is sane response. Is this a comment that Batman and Superman are straighter than the X-Men and thus better? The Batman movies not gay influenced? And finally, the fact that our marine friend here is lauding Ned Beatty for an Oscar in Superman, when clearly he should have received the Oscar for his work in Deliverence.
That was fake right? No conservative knucklehead could put his foot in his mouth that many times in one post, right?
I'm going to read comics to escape from how goofy the world is. Oh, right. This is a comics discussion. I'm going to sleep until November.
Thanks for listening. |
