Should technically go in Music, but I wouldn't want to deprive anyone of the glory that is:

Captain Kirk sings Pulp

When I read the press release for his forthcoming album "HasBeen", I thought it was a windup. Now I believe. Even the bit about HENRY FUCKING ROLLINS guesting on it.

(Release date's October 5th, apparently. I can't fucking wait.)

Worth it just to hear Shat saying "smoke and drink and screw" alone. Shame he doesn't do all the singing, but never mind.

That is the best thing I have heard today, and I really do not like pulp. Who's doing the singing on that track.

Not sure... there's a whole bunch of people on the album, apparently, including (did I alread mention) HENRY FUCKING ROLLINS!!!

I'll have to have another look for the press release... I remember it's all produced by, and the original songs are co-written with, Ben Folds. Oh, and HENRY FUCKING ROLLINS!!! is on it, too. I think I forgot to mention that.

It's being played on Xfm and it is worth hearing, in a novelty kind of way. I think it'll get boring pretty quickly mind. The first time I heard it though my jaw just dropped and I laughed my ass off.

Quality - might be novelty, but enough to cheer me up for the day.

I was listening to Shatner the other night, was a bit drunk and it seemed like a good idea, Rocket Man from the 1978 Sci-fi awards rocks.

Anyone heard his old album, Transformed Man?
"Imagine yourself... On a BOAT!!! On a RIVER!!! With... (choke) mmmMMMARMALADE TREEEEESSSS!!!!!!"

"MIS-TER TAM-BOU-RINE MAAAAAAAAN!!" (say it like KHAAAAAN!)

I always pictured him stumbling backwards and missing a chair in the studio, sitting on the floor as he sung "Newspaper taxis appear on the shore, waiting to take you away" in grief.

YEAH! Canadiana! He is Canadian, right?

Regardless, Will Shatner and Leonard Cohen really should team up. Think of the harmony!

Yeah, in a Hell in the Cell match vs Nimoy and Garfunkle.

Yeah he's a canuck, from Montreal. The University here has a building named after him. How often does one get to say "yes, I've learned quite a lot from all my time being inside the Shatner"

But, didn't Shatner kill his wife?

Saint Keggers
20:50 / 30.07.04
Maybe..but I think it was because of all the grief he had to deal with when Klingons killed his son.

He was going to transport her out of the pool, but it was an ancient PC and he spent twenty minutes talking into the mouse. By then it was too late.

Actually, his wife had already gotten a warning from her doctor about drinking and swimming. Said so in the tabloids, but it seems like one of the truer stories.

Dudes, he may be The Shat, but taking the piss out of his dead wife is a bit much.

The primal scream at the end of his cover of 'Mr. Tamborine Man' is one of the greatest moments in music ever.

I used to watch Rescue 911 all the time, and who can forget T.J. Hooker? Those were good shows.
