So who's your favourite 'grimette' then? And do you prefer the ones what rap or the ones what sing?

Laces - where do you hear all this stuff? Even with frequent choonings around the pirates I still find it hard to get to hear any MC based grime tings. I ain't got broadband either. Any ideas?

And yeah, she does have a single out. And verily 'tis mint. And can be heard on her website along with a nifty little video.

She is super-tiny an wears lots of adidas. I *heart* her.

I am broadband deprived. More reason to get it, I suppose.

Lady Sov's the one, that bit on "little bit of 'ush" where she's all like "Oh no pianos!" is fucking skill.

Kinda cute too...in a weird kinda way

Surely M.I.A. ('Galang', 'Sunshowers') counts as grime, right? I only just learnt that M.I.A. is a solo artist (Maya Arul) rather than a group... She's my current favourite. "Like PLO, I don't surrend-o!"

And what about Lady Stush? It's the little squeaks that make her style...

"'That Stush think she heavy' - oh please!
You say I'm not a bitch? Well buy my CDs..."

'A Little Bit Of Ssshh!' is indeed also wicked. It's packed with these great little moments as has been observed, and I think my favourite is near the end: "You can start making a little bit of noise now, y'know?... I'm not gonna go completely off the rail..."

The genre police would have one believe that MIA is not grime. Fuck knows, really. I'd say she's more dancehall than anything else...

I like stush but she's been laying a bit low recently no?

Anybody got any love for the sing-y stuff like KT and Kano's "Love is here to stay"?

It reminds me of the first wave of vocal UK garage around '98 or so. But that's probably mostly because of the awful singing.
