i just picked up the "Bone: one volume edition" today. a few days ago i piked up the "American Elf" big fat tpb.
a month or so ago i piked up the "Palomar" hc. i have the "Locas" hc on order. I already have "From Hell" , "blankets", and some other huge-ass comics. that's a lot of money spent and a whole lot of really thick comics. just the ones i named will probably take up a whole shelf! so, anyway....what comics would you like to see collected into one massive volume?

If B&N can fit 3 Ultimate Spiderman hardcovers in one book they can fit Morrison's XMen in one volume.

CEREBUS!

There's probably health and safefty regulations against collecting Cerebus. You'd need special lifting gear and protective boots. No to mention rose tinted glasses to filter out the rants.

Fortunately Sim has cut out pretty much everything approaching a rant in the collections by reprinting the strips themselves rather than the letters pages and the essays which replaced them.

Ah, heh heh. You've obviously missed some of his later annotations.

I still love the guy, for reals, but I'd have to clarify that the Phone Books are in no way rant free.

God damn that Bone book is heavy! As I said in the NYT thread, though, these kinds of collections are the best way to get comics treated seriously. You'll note that they cribbied the back cover design of Bone directly from the Lord Of The Rings collected book. Smart move, and proving my point.

I'd love to see Chris WAre try and do a full compilation of the Acme Novelty Library. I only remembered yesterday when I came across one of the smaller ones that there's a lot more Jimmy Corrigan around than you find in the book.
Can you imagine what a collection would look like? The first twenty pages two foot high, then the next five inches square. You could make it into one of those kids books there you mix and match people's clothes and stuff...

I'd love to see the Battle:Action force stories collected, before they went all Marvel UK and Gi Joe. They were grand! Especailly the Kraken story line.

I have vivd memories of a torture scene in one of those old action force comics I read as a child in a dentist's waiting room. A man was being dangled upside-down over a chasm, the only thing supporting him was a rope tied arouund his feet. The baddies were interrogating him, but i don't remember if the intelligence he gave them was of any use i just remember that when they were finished the baddies cut the rope, ensuring the man plunged to his death...
