It's... alright. There are quite a few funny moments in it, but a lot of sections seem to plod. Think the first third of Bad Taste and you're probably there - it's certainly not on a par with the later parts of that film and nowhere near the quality of Braindead. But then, it's only about £5 from places like Amazon.

I would certainly buy a copy. It isn't exactly any good, or anything, but you will, god help you, find yourself watching it a lot. At least if the idea of the Muppet Show as conducted in the Ninth circle of Hell appeals, anyway.

There are so many great moments -

That whole thing with the elephant and the chicken;

The song the fox sings;

All the abysmal material to do with the rabbit, and the fly;

The bulimic hippo, the priapic walrus - I could go on a while here, but I wouldn't like to spoil it. Basically though, it's a genuinely appalling piece of work.

Ohhhh, flashback... the cow with pierced udders...
I wonder if, when Peter Jackson was shooting The Two Towers, there was one wag in the seige scene who was "Patwowwing the battwements"...

Don't bother. It's pretty unfunny and a bit disturbing to watch.

Because, you know, disturbing is bad.

Considering eric's last post, I somehow doubt that saying that a film is disturbing is going to be particularly effective as an argument against watching it.

I really like it... yes, it is quite distrurbing and an uncomfortable watch, but it's BLOODY funny.

(And my flatmate did some work on the puppets' costumes, apparently).

Not a fan. Some funny bits, but after a while it is just grating noise and garishness.

And a climax featuring a pissed-off jilted hippopotamus diva with an M-60 slaughtering the cast in an orgy of puppet blood-letting that makes the last five minutes of Taxi Driver look like the Wiggles movie.

So, you know it's not all bad, then.

You forgot the Vietnam flashback. That rules.

Yes ! The Vietnam flashback... I'm truly appalled that I'd forgotten about that.

When I think about Meet The Feebles, as I try to do often, I can never quite get past that bit where the elephant " needs the toilet, " and the resultant disaster that befalls the backstage staff.

I haven't watched this in years, but it's still so vivid.

>Because, you know, disturbing is bad.

This was along the lines of "Oh, that was pretty damn pointless. What disturbed mind came up with this tripe?" That type of disturbing. That's as opposed to the "that completely and totally shook me up. Disturbingly cool."

sez me.

NO SPOILERS

My favorite is the Viet Cong beavers holding a political discussion over dinner.

"Reform is the enemy of revolution."

And the Yoga master who sticks his head up his own arse!
And the rat shooting porno movies with the cow with the pierced udders and the cockroach (the Masked Masochist),
and the anteater smelling everyone's underwear, and the sheep has a New Zealand accent...

Sodomy!
Oh you must think it very odd-of-me
That I enjoy the act of Sodomy!

Classic. Yes, its utterly appalling and disturbing, with muppets. And beautiful for it at the same time.

Open up your mind
and loosen um your bum
bum-bum, bum-bum-bum-bum-bum-bum!
