Help writing word puzzles

Here's the situation: It's my friend's birthday and I want to come up with a set of four simple puzzles that yield specific answers. The answers I need are:

Robot (or robots)
Timber
Lemonade
Chain gang
Cymbal (or cymbal crash)

The idea is that each clue will lead to specific area of my house where he'll find a small gift with another puzzle attached.

Thank you very much for any help you can give. As I've discovered, I'm really terrible at devising word puzzles.
