Given the slow exodus of the lith to south of the river, or sahf d'river as we say in our native tongue, it's long overdue time we had a meet down this way.

What say you to a meet one Sunday in Dulwich. Nominations for pubs and dates welcomed.

Sounds good to me can't really sugest anywhere as I've not been out drinking in Dulwich yet but there's one that looks nice from the bus, something like Inside number *and then a number*

Can't drink much because I'm working in Birmingham on Monday.

I'm always up for such meets, as they're a. local(ish), and b. nostalgic, as for some reason a number of my early Barbiemeets were held there, namely at the dear old Brixton Hobgoblin. Come to think of it, why did we ever stop having meets in Sarf Landan?

Our Lady Has Left the Building

Because the only people with the verve and spirit to organise meets wanted to have them north of the river. How about Aug. 15th or 22nd?

I'm just noticing that you said one Sunday and not on Sunday

Dulwich sounds good - but i know no pubs there so whoever recommends them is going to have to include a map link too

Crown and Greyhound?

Paleface has also touted the Crown and Greyhound as a quality establishment although did mention that it may prove to be lacking in accessibility.

Crown and Greyhound, for sure. They do a great BBQ on Sunday afternoons, well, the food there's pretty good, and the beer is great. Not much more pricey than the Plough, either, really.

It's about five-ten minutes walk from West Dulwich station. I can meet people at the station if necessary. West Dulwich is ten minutes from Victoria once every half hour. Or there's the P4 bus, but The Seldom Killer has a thing about buses beginning with P.

It really is a very nice pub, though.

It's also about 5-10mins walk from North Dulwich station which you get to from London Bridge in about 10mins or so. Also far more regular trains than West Dulwich.

Yea i'd be up for a lazy sunday drink but not this sunday as i'm skint.

Ghadis is right. It is far more convenient that way around; it's just I only know it from the other direction

Basically, it's stupidly easy to get to and you have no excuse not to. It's a very lovely pub, and the food is fabulous.

My phobia of P buses is well founded, they are bizarre vehicles that are beholden to no known form of logic. However I will pull up a bunch of maps soon.

What does everyone make of Lady Flamingoes' suggestion of the 15th of August?

Oh my god. Someone has suggested somewhere I can walk home from; I will be eternally greatful. 15th would be fabulous, 22nd not so much for me, but whicheverwhichway.

Oh and by the by, I'm not moving to devon anymore.

Well that's not so bad; wrestling is allowable in small doses in the park, if there's also a picnic (with brie).

Woo Haa. Picnic, brie and booze. This may turn out to be the best day in the world ever.

Buy you plane, train and crane tickets now. Whatever it takes to get there.

OK, my plans so far are:

Picnic sort of thing in Dulwich Park at about 2:30 - 3ish. Take a look at the street map link that I provided, the park is at the bottom and it's probably easiest to meet by the boddy of water that is trying to sneak off the edge.

Drinks in the pub around 6ish.

Weather permitting applies.

PM me for my mobile if you think you might need it.

I plan to bake cakes.

Sounds good, if the weather is crap everyone can head back to mine I was meaning to have a party anyway - I have a tree but there's no grass, I have a shed but no plants, I have a scary basement that nobody has ever been in... but it will be bright and sunny anyway..

That does sound quite scary, the tree has a rope swing, is that better?

I'm not suggesting people will the thrown into the basement, that would just be crazy.

Bear - bright sunny basements are commonly known as pits.

I meant the day will be bright and sunny and there will be no need for the basement visit but I'm starting to change my mind now. Your pushing your luck!

I'm curious to know what's down there though, strange magical things I imagine.
