Does anyone know of any good new/second-hand bookshops to go to in North England/Wales for occult purchases?
Can they also be accessable by public transport, please - does mindwalking for 30mins after getting off bus/train/etc.

whilst NOT great or even expansive, I was pleasantly surprised by a shop called Wizard (I hope this right) in Chester

it had more titles of interest than the local mainstream bookshop and I found about 10 of the 100 or so titles it had, worth considering (though admittedly, my knowledge of Magick is very limited)

'News From Nowhere' in Bold Street in liverpool is also quite good, NOT great but the staff are very helpful and will do their utmost to order or attempt to get most books you ask for

I was very pleqasantly surprised by the bargains I got in YORK a couple of years ago. Whilst again not great, there are a few little independant outlets that might have the odd gem that might be of interest to you. At least you are getting away from the Waterstones monopoly etc

Hope that helps

Joe, thanks for the help. Just a question about the shop in Chester, i have lived there for 18 years and never found this one - although it is possible it exists - any idea where it is, is it city centre or outside, could you give me a street name, other shops, pubs, places nearby.

Thanks

I can't remember sorry

it is up the stairs above some of the other shops

I seem to remember that it is near WH Smiths

You know when you are approaching the right hand turn that takes you to WH Smiths.....you are on the road with Ladbrokes the betting shop etc.....you reach a junction where you can go straight ahead....a bit further you can reach a left hand turn that takes you to other shops ........well if you turn right just before then, and look up and to the right again, then Wizard (if that is th right name) is there

It is above the street level. All I can say with any certainty is that it is above the normal, street level shops..........................hope that helps

By the way ....Chester was great. had a really nice day there a couple of weeks ago. Loverly meal in the Revolution.....loads to drink and basically lovely and friendly people

I really hope you find that shop. If you come out of the main entrance to WHS and turn right, look up and you should find the shop on your left on the upper level

(by the way, I have no idea whether WHS is still there....I never got that far down street and am working from memory)

How's about New Aeon Books in Manchester? Been visiting the shop for years, tho' I don't know the current owners.

I'll probably be offline again for a couple of days, let me know how you got on finding that shop in Chester

(is it Fourbouys street or something?....probably very wrong but it is near WHS, I know that......come out of the main entrance , turn right towards city centre and look up to first floor level)
