For the last Scotland meet loads of people seemed to be away for the weekend but liked the idea -so is anyone up for the Guilford Arms, 7ish, a week this Thursday (the 22nd)?

The Guildford Arms is just off Princes Street, at the Waverly Station end, so it's good for people who need to get the train through as well.

Amethyst, It's the Princes Street side of Waverly station -basically you go up the steps off platform 19 (Waverly Steps?) and it's behind the Burger King you see when you get to the top. There's a map here if you want slightly less landmark-oriented directions!

I'll be there, unless I realise that any of you are people I know already, in which case I'll be the one running like heck. It's a Church and State thing for me. Real Life and Barbelith... Keep 'em separate.

but... if you come and meet us, then you will know us in real life. Does that mean you can only ever come to one meet? And will you ignore us if you pass a Barbe-person tomorrow on Princes Street, if you're with a 'real' person?

Wow, a real Barbe-meet; far too much beer consumed, lots of nonsense talked ... it was great. The only concern is Vincennes and where she is now. Last I saw she was heading out of the pub, jacketless but taking a full pint of Orkney Dark Island with her, to try and catch the 10.30 train. This was at 10.31.

Yes, all was well there! -if I'd missed the train you would have got another heeeeeeeeeelp phone call.

And I didn't have a jacket with me, since the weather was quite nice when I left home (ho ho ho). The pint was also fine, the trains home at that time are usually unstaffed -mainly I think because they are full of people who think that taking an actual glass of beer on the train is an okay idea.

Twas indeed a good night -wicked to meet more people! Much nonsense talked indeed...

I think I'm going to have another glass of water now. There's a headache in need of some quality nursing.
