The point of this thread is to recommend films although not nessecarily discuss them on the grounds that it may be too soon.
For instance, the below post is about a film I saw last year but is only just about to get national release. The release will probably not be that widespread or long running but I think a lot of you will enjoy it, therefore I am recommending it.
If this thread were in a tin the label would have an accurate decription.
Blue Gate Crossing
I saw this film at the '03 LLGFF and was suitably awestruck.
The best way that I can describe this is as the Taiwanese take on Fucking Amal. Although I have no experience of sexual confusion or teenage life in Taiwan, this film does appear to portray and deal with these subjects in a very real manner. Certainly those who would know seem to think so.
Anyway, the point of this post is that the film is coming out on general release and I highly recommend it to all. |
