this topic is weird. It seems to have been started by Cherry Bomb, but the first post is by John Paul Vann, and seems to follow directly from the subject line (that is, it doesn't look like a response to a deleted Cherry Bomb post).

Earlier today there was a blitz of threads like that, and Cherry Bomb was called ‘Cherry Bomb aka the knowledge’. I think it’s yet another pointless suit-hijacking incident to waste everyone’s time.

Yup. Grant this is the real Cherry Bomb, and I was hacked by our friend calo. Things seem to be under control at the moment but I didn't start any of those threads.

I only thought it was weird because the first post appeared to be the topic-starting post, but in fact it wasn't, it was the reply to the topic-starting post. (Still doesn't explain entirely why a deleted first post should result in "0 replies" being displayed, but hey, I guess it's all in how you count 'em.)

I think "replies" is just "number of posts in the thread -1". If you find a thread the starting post of which has been deleted and which had no response, you get it described as having -1 replies. This situation wasn't originally envisaged, because if you deleted the first post inthe olden days you also deleted the thread...
