I love it! I think it's hilarious. But where the hell did this series come from. Is it based on an older cartoon that's been reworked (like Space Ghost and Sea Lab)! I got the first season DVD and can't really grasp what they came from! What are they supposed to be, a superhero happy meal. Any information about how this series came together would be helpful!

Here's what a little googling came up with. Apparently, ATHF came from an initial cameo that was supposed to take place on Space Ghost, but it never came to anything. After a bit of a lack in lineup due to Space Ghost taking a back seat, the two creators gave it a go. It's amazing to see what they came up with.

I too am a pretty big fan of the show as it's been intersecting my late-night freelance schedule. I even picked the 1st Season up as a b-day present for my good friend as we would usually catch it together regularly and call after a particularly good episode if not at the same locale. I enjoy a lot of the comedy scheduling of Adult Swim up to this point and think that they have hit a decent sweet spot. Here's to Season 2 on DVD in July...

Funny but nothin'. Master Shake is taking my ideas of assholeness to new levels. And the mooninites rock.

C'mon, assisted living Dracula! "It's kinda slow, but once you get into it..."

This thread helped push me last night (in a drunken stupor no less) to pre-order Seasons 1 & 2, Amazon being only a click away.

I like meatwad quite a bit as he's more deadpan and subtle, but I think it's the whole range of characters and the dynamic between them that gets it all going. I also like how Carls seems to get more pissed off as the seasons progress.

If you hop over to Adult Swim's site, there some decent Carl games to boot.

i almost hurt myself laughing when the Mooninites cut the Plutonians off in the spaceship and they started trading middle fingers and moonings.

"Oh, Ur, your ass is so small and square that it barely qualifies as a moon at all."

this show is so, amazing. I saw the drippy the talking mold episode and just thought it was the stupidest show ever, like "why would you make a show about a super-hero team comprised of: a milk shake, french fries and a piece of meat?" but then I saw that mooninites one and got over it all and have been watching season 1 for awhile.
what about that happy time harry doll? "no, I don't do any dancing. I wrenched my back a couple years back carrying some heavy boxes, then my wife kicked me out because her sister was coming onto me...." "goodness was she attractive?" "uh..you know? I don't know, I was passed out.."
and that foreigner belt was great, so's Carl. I love the dialogue in that show, man I wish I had cable.
if you can get past the absurdity of a pack of french fries, a milk shake and a piece of meat living together, then you ought to like this one.

Damn, I got a DVD of this ages ago, and gave it to my nephew without watching it (I was in the middle of a move), now I'll have to hunt it down again...

Christ the new season is so phenomenal.

"But. Can it show. Lord Of The Rings."

Shake is so the greatest cartoon character ever created.

Yes, Shake is the funniest ever!

My personal favorite is the "Dumber Dolls" episode, particularly the ending when they're all standing on the cliff. Prepare to be immortal indeed.

"Oh Frylock, Highlander is a documentary and the events take place in real time."

Moonenites are the shiz. Some favotites of mine:

"No-one can defeat the Quadlaser. Look at the size of that bullet."

- Oh thats right, you only have three dimensions.

- Yeah, so?

- Oh nothing, its cute. We have fourty.

- Thousand.

I realize that doesn't *sound* funny as I write it, but trust me.

haha

"the bullet is enormous-there is no escape."
"jumping....is, useless."

"get back inside the house!" "oh you guys are fighting." "..we're fighting!"

that show is dope.

I wish I had phone spiders.

"Gentlemen! Fill me up with barbecue sauce, 'cause I'm dumb as hell!"

The best bit(s) did come from the Foriegner belt episode. "We've come to steal your porn and sodomize our vast imaginations."
"But how will you stop us, Carl, when you're cold as ice?"

Dooooodes!

New episodes have been most excellent. Sunday's Boost Mobile hijinks were brilliant, but by far, the best part was the can of Axe Body Spray in every scene of the end credits.
It's much funnier watching it than writing that sentence, honestly.
