The book consists of twenty-two interviews with gay, lesbian, bi and trans prom attendees, from the mid-1930s Bronx to the first graduating class of Harvey Milk High School. Each interviewee recounts their prom experience and the book reflects on the ways in which this American tradition has changed - and not changed - over the years.
