Fucking awesome it is too. Painful to listen to AND the best thing I've heard in ages AT THE VERY SAME TIME. Anyone else got this?

Haven't heard it yet. One day I will.

Their previous album, Mono, though - fucking hell that's a great album! It's not half as technical or idea-filled as the Dillinger Escape Plan or whatever, but it really really stands out from all the boring metalcore legions - it's got that loose, swinging brink-of-collapse rock n' roll feel to it like the Stooges Funhouse and, CRUCIALLY, it's not just a lot of pointless racket - they really fucking are that angry and crazed - like the Birthday Party before them they're really channeling all their messed up hormonal rage and drug/poverty anxiety straight into the music and as a result it just tears yr face off.. it's punk as fuck.

The main reson why I keep going back the the Icarus Line whereas other bands that sound similar bore me rigid is that they're not just some testosterone-gushing "real men play on ten" macho cockfest - instead they're nervous and wirey and paranoid and exploding with rampant sexual neuroses and confusion and barely repressed violence and..

..what were we talking about again?

Totally EVIL guitar riffs too.

The majiority of the albums trying very hard to be spacemen 3 only more willfully unpleasant, an not in a good way, track 5 is supergood mind.

It aint no mono!

I thought that at first but holy fuck, it grows on you. Or me, at least. Caught them at Leeds Cockpit before I got this, they scared all the posing hipsters there to gush over the asexual support band out of the room and lit the fucking place up. Aaron North seemed kind of restrained- none of his guitar smashing tricks, but he did manage to wedge himself upside down behind his amp.

I think "Party The Baby Off" is the closest these guys are ever going to come to pop music, which is sort of weird but rad. Rizla, get this!

Only got it last week so should probably give it a bit more growing time,
Your right though they are supergood live even if Aaron did kick me in the face when i saw them last in manchester when they were touring for mono.
