Throbbing Gristle meets the Detroit noise of the Stooges.
They can't really sound like that, surely? That would just be, like, too much man. C'mon now.
One rather good band I did see at ATP who were "noise" were Double Leopards. They dealt with big sheets of noise, ala Merzbow, but made live with pedals and analogue gadgets and microphones rather than on computer / with samples. They were also way, way more subtle and interesting, and less controntational, than the Merzbow type stuff. Some really eerie and exciting horror movie dronescape type action.. beautiful and frightening stuff.
Oh, and finally, I know stating it so plainly kinda ruins the gag, but: Nuns Number, you are surely aware that those threads about Dave Matthews etc. are jokes? |
