Art and drinking thing in Brighton.

Hello,
I'm doing the sound for an arty type performance thing this Saturday 26th June 2004. In the name of Architechture Week I will be walking around with a speaker strapped to my front emitting noises with a chum. Meanwhile, another chum shall be operating various projectors to create a lovely time. The site is on Brighton seafront, middle promenade near Burger king. It's a glass oval building. Low budget private view in a public space. Bring your own alchohol. The performance shall commence at 9.30pm and shall continue until everyone fucks off or we get bored. Do come.

By the way, the event is called Everyday Journeys. Thankyou.

Nipple bits. I'll be down during the day if you want to meet up for a drink, but by 9:30 I'll probably be on the train back to smokey Londinium town...

hmm, sounds intriguing - might be up for a bit of this seafront/speaker-strapped-to-front action (eh?)... it all sounds like it needs to be seen, certainly

erm- didn't mean to sound a bit aloof and weird there -it sounds like it will be quite cool.
Maybe see you during the day as well, Loz, if drinking trousers (or other suitable garments) are being donned

Hmm, Brighton on a Saturday...

Hmmm... sounds like a great idea, doesn't it? Yes. Yes it does. Let us all drink together. I'd nominate the Basketmakers if I were the sort of person bold enough to put forward such an idea. Hob Goblin's cheap too. Hmmm...

why not, eh, had forgotten you were being an artiste this weekend....

Is this evolving into a P-laaaaaan? drinkies and then Fraely-shaped-culture?

Hob's easier to find than Basketmakers, though I like the B muchly also....

actualleh, the B's not that hard to find, is it?

Might be a bit crowded on a Saturday, tho?

Let word go out across the land

Yeah, it seems to be Brighton's token rock/gothy pub, the old hobgobblers- I always seem to seek refuge in those places in any city... I hardly know anywhere in Brighton though- basketmakers??

Hobgoblin serves a fine ale at only £2.05, that's my kind of price. Don't really care where we go though, really.

Anyone coming down the seafront should pull on their action slacks, looks like we're in for some extreme weather. WOAH!

Looks like were doing it again on Tuesday, by the way.

Nice one, if a bit sweaty when we got to the Hobgoblin, but always nice to meet new Barbeloids.

Any chance you're doing that this coming weekend (2-4 July)? I'll be in Brighton for some bit of "Bob" nonsense then. The big event's Sunday night / Monday morning (This Is Piss are organizing it), but I made a stupid and booked to return Sunday noon. There's supposed to be a film festival or sumpin' on Saturday, though.

Where's a good rekkids shop or used book store, and didn't there used to be a museum of automata on the big pier? Thanks...

No plans to. I'm gonna miss the Piss Party. They do great parties, have a good one.

bjacques - Records and second hands books = North Laine (i.e. Bond St through to Sydney Street and surrounding environs). I particularly recommend Borderline (Gardner Street) for all your new music buying needs, and Wax Factor (Trafalgar Street) is pretty good for second hand vinyl. Ooh, and you must go to Snoopers' Paradise on Kensington Gardens. They have everything. Everything.
Oh, and the museum of automata - you're either thinking of the toy and model museum, which is on Trafalgar Street under the station bridge, or the Victorian penny arcade, which is on the beach, just west of the Palace Pier.
