Speaking of rare and expensive books, does anyone have anything to say about Andrew Chumbley's works?

I know his Azoetia is often selling on ebay for a pretty penny.

Sorry to bump this one up but I discovered from the yahoo group aosgallery that Chumbley has died.

I feel sad about this: anyone have any thoughts about his work?

depends on what you mean by have anything to say...the work is peculiar and very particular, unlike much else i have worked with, though very resonant with spare and a sort of 'traditional' witchcraft. i'm not expert though and have only been working with the azoetia for a few months and not intensively either, more getting to know it at the moment (slowly too)...

there's a strong sense of mysticism not usually prevalent in CM style texts, quite a reverential atmosphere in the azoetia, major emphasis on dreamwork and a very dream like structure. the book itself is also a crafted item, quite beautiful if your a bibliophile

chumbley - and possibly the cultus sabbati - seems like some of the most interesting work to have been produced in the last ten, fifteen years. not the only interesting stuff but definitely on the list
