Wildcats 26?

Mark Millar filling in the Invisibles lettercol in V1 #23 talks about Grant being ill and then he says "These kind words, along with Alan Moore's WILDCATS 26, have been the only relief from suffering he's had in the last few weeks."

What the heck does he mean?

I remember that. Isn’t there also a line about him feebly croaking ‘is-it--by--Charest?’ from his sickbed? or maybe I dreamed that bit. I'm not about to go and check.

Dude. Whatever your opinion on the merits of WildCATS, Travis Charest hit some fucking amazing form about then. It kinda rocked my world. Although #21 was better.

I'm guessing that it means he enjoyed an issue of wildcats that was written by Alan Moore...

Alan Moore wrote a big chunk of Wildcats v1. It's fun, fast paced, and does some really neat things with the Wildstorm universe.

It's not Promethia, but it's got its high points.

You'd think they'd put Moore's WILDCATS in paperback, wouldn't ya?? Such a paperback does not exist at this point....

Ummm - correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't they already done it?

The funniest thing about that quote/question was the absolute cocktease they always pulled with Charest's work in those issues. It was always maybe ten pages of Charest and the rest by some feeble hack.

So enticing yet disappointing at the same time. The bitter and the sweet. The Charest and the hack.

Those were good days. The way he drew that Robot-Jaw chick? YEEEOW.

Luckily now, he doesn't produce ANYTHING AT ALL! God bless the over-indulged artist.
